A Cuppa at the India Couture Week Press Conference

20th June 2014, New Delhi

A lot can happen over a Cuppa too!

Well 2014 is indeed shining bright on the Couture frenzy fashionistas. Yesterday while sitting amidst the 'who’s who' of the Indian Fashion fraternity and sipping fresh ginger tea; BM witnessed the face of modern Indian couture being unveiled. It was the press conference of Delhi Couture Week being revamped and re-launched as “THE INDIA COUTURE WEEK 2014”

In India sadly the line between couture and Bridal Wear seems blurred; however the FDCI promises to break through the blur lines and revamp Indian Couture with this Couture week kicking off on July 15th, 2014. With top notch Indian designers at work you can only expect magic to be weaved around you. Now we know why it’s getting hotter in Delhi each day 😉

This event aims at showcasing collections which would be a blend of ethnic designs fused with modern silhouettes. Varun Bahl revealed highlights about his own collection stating it to be a romantic affair between traditional motifs and modern design. Anju Modi was all smiles while she told us about her latest venture with the renowned Director Mr. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, for his upcoming film Bajirao Mastani. His love for Indian art pulled him towards Anju Modi as her creations reflect the ethnicity of Indian Culture.

There was more to the show than couture alone. Mr. Praveen Goel (CEO, Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers, Title Sponsors) will exclusively launch two exquisite collections Svara and Sondarya at the at the India Couture Week runway on the last day of the event. Also the 6th day of the event will be witnessing the grand launch of the Logix City Centre Mall, which is the associate sponsor for this event. This mall will be have a dedicated area called the “Destination Couture” showcasing Indian and International couture brands.

BM wishes a grand success to the FDCI for the “India Couture Week”. We are blocking our dates right away to gape at the beauty of Indian couture.
