Max(imum) Style with Max
What winters have you seen, if not in North India? But too much of everything is bad. Of late Delhi has been treating me weird with temperatures going as low as 2.5 degrees Celsius. But when you step out covered up all in layers and fur, it becomes a fun event.
Recently I visited Max store in Great India Place and was amazed at their AW’14 collection. I found out so many fab pieces that I am just waiting for this winter chill to subtle down and try all these looks. For now, I have penned them down for you (and me) for future references.
Look 1: The Nerdy Story
Pencil skirts have always fascinated me. They give you a perfect shape and are ‘just the perfect’ length. To top it all, these can be styled as casual look as well as formal corporate look.
I found my ‘perfect one’ in floral print, blue and black combination. I teamed it up with a funky digital print T-shirt, which has none other than fashion goddess ‘Audrey Hepburn’ printed on it. This becomes a must-have when you follow fashion religion 😉
Sneakers are ruling the style planet. And what better way to keep you warm during winters? I completed the look with this funky ankle length black canvas pair.
For accessories, I picked up these stunning stone studs in ivory shade with golden zircon border. These have an interesting rectangular shape, which kept them a little away from the ‘too girly’ category.
What’s left? Of course, a Bag! When it comes to bags, I am really not the person. I go crazy when I see bags. And Max has so many to offer, that I get confused seeing all the lovely pieces. Still I managed to figure it out and picked up this Aztec print back-pack in ivory and tan combination.
To get a finished look, I added a denim crop jacket and a pair of nerdy glasses. (Topshop and Forever 21)
Make up Idea: Bold lips and eyes; Chocolate brown is the color in my mind. If you’re on a funkier side of mood, you can even try navy o your lips, eyes and nails.

Look 2: The Gypsy Queen
Comfort is my way of style and the first thing that strikes my mind after comfort is a maxi skirt. It is a flowy skirt in feminine fabric but it can be styled in a lesser girly way too.
For the same reason I picked up this georgette black maxi skirt and teamed it up with a floral jersey. There is someone so glam about ‘Winter Florals’; they make styling interesting. And jerseys are a must-have for winters. They fit you well and keep you a little warm. If you want a more glam look, you can fold the hem of your jersey a little bit to create a crop effect.
For my feet I chose this awesome pair of gladiator flats in textured golden faux leather. I like maxi skirts with flat sandals and to top it all, it was a gypsy look that I had in my mind.
For accessories, I picked up a sleek golden waist belt. This gives a sleek effect to your waist. A coral faux leather quilted clutch with golden studs is going to bring color to the look.
Just add a pair of stone water drop earrings with golden zircons frame, and you’re good to go.
To add a little drama to your look, add a funky head gear; probably a matha patti or tiara. I chose this head band with coral roses detailing. It matches up with the complete coral-roses-black look.
Make up Idea: Keep it simple. A day look with subtle eyes and coral lips would go well. Paint your talons coral too.
