We all have a muse – Blake Lively
Style Inspiration – Blake Lively
I am sure everyone has something that inspires them. From photographers to designers to stylists everyone in the industry uses references and have an inspiration that comes from somewhere. You will see designers getting inspired from the contemporary art or rural traditions. Even John Galliano's show for his label and for Dior in the past were influenced by a documentary, Grey Gardens about hermitic socialites and model, Lisa Fonssagrives from the 50s.
References give importance clues to understanding a line and making it easier to visualize. However many references are cliched and exaggerated. For example, a black Givenchy cocktail dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's or Diane Keaton wearing a man's shirt and tie.
But I won’t talk about architecture, movies and buildings or great legacies. A style connoisseur like me, always have eyes on the garb of a well-known fashionista, who is the face of Chanel's Mademoiselle Handbag line and has also graced the cover of Vogue Magazine, three times.
Blake Lively; Style Goddess
She is blake lively; the queen of Upper East Side who has hit it big as Serena Van Der Woodsen. I love the way she balances luxe and glamour. She is an epitome of beauty. The depth of her fashion power is inexplicable. I wonder how it all seems so perfect. You see this long legged lass clad in high fashion brands, flawless skin and not a hair out of place.
In Gossip Girl, Blake Lively's life might be in turmoil and breaking apart but her wardrobe stays intact. "If you ever want something badly, let it go. If it comes back to you, then it's yours forever. If it doesn't, then it was never yours to begin with," says blake lively in one of the Gossip Girl episodes.
I know I can be really style obsessed but have you realized, you can’t just blatantly copy? It is just that inspirations and references work as a raw material and mingle in the subconscious mind to form new ideas and opinions. And in my case, Blake Lively does it all.
Let it come to you. I love to be natural. Don't force style into yourself. It is all about who you are and what you want to say.
